Introduction- What is the American Revolutionary War?
The American Revolutionary War was a war of independence battled between the British and the American Colonies. This took place from 1775 to 1783, even though the Colonies and the British had fought for years previously, which may have lead up to this. Britain decided to put taxes in the form of Acts, of many sorts, upon the Colonies in which they did not agree with. This lead to the Colonies refusing to buy British goods, protesting against them, and other actions to show that Britain was being unfair. The American Revolutionary War was the cause of the Colonies' independence because Britain mandatorily put taxes for the Colonies, and the Colonies eventually refused to pay these taxes, causing them to repeal against them in order to claim their equal rights.
